About La Salada El Pagès Content Tinto

La Salada El Pagès Content Tinto is a journey to the Penedès region crafted from the sumoll variety. A diverse cuvée from vines that have never encountered a plough or chemicals, meticulously tended by Toni Carbó.

After collaborating with his childhood friend Ramon Jané at Mas Candí and promoting wines made from native varieties with minimal intervention, Toni Carbó took over the family vineyard located in the heart of Penedès. There, alongside his wife, he initiated La Salada to produce their own natural wines adhering to biodynamic principles.

La Salada El Pagès Content Tinto, meaning the content farmer in Catalan, is a tribute to a savoir-faire preserved through generations in the countryside, which Toni Carbó faithfully revives in this wine. To achieve this, he works in the vineyard with the aim of capturing the essence of the terroir and expressing it without enological products, in a completely artisanal manner and following lunar cycles.

Similarly, in the winery, chemical products are unwelcome. Once the grapes are carefully crushed, they macerate and ferment with indigenous yeasts, and the wine is then refined in ceramic tanks to preserve all the fruitiness and enjoy the purest possible expression of each variety. Ultimately, La Salada El Pagès Content Tinto is a table wine to be savoured even during the after-dinner conversation.
