All of Toni Carbó's wines narrate a story, with each one encapsulating a special moment in his life. Like the other labels of La Salada, El Raig Verd emerges from a memory, an emotion, a sincere quest for what truly matters.
This wine draws inspiration from the film "Le Rayon Vert" by Éric Rohmer, where it is said that if one is fortunate enough to witness that fleeting final green flash at sunset, the deepest thoughts are unveiled, and the soul connects with the essential. Such is La Salada El Raig Verd, a wine that is not only consumed but also felt.
Crafted from malvasía and macabeo varieties on clay-limestone soils of an organic vineyard in Can Catasús, in the Pla del Penedès, La Salada El Raig Verd is an orange wine cultivated as Toni's grandparents did, with respect, without artifices, and harvested manually.
In the winery, the grapes are 50% destemmed and trodden by foot as was done in the past. In the winery, it macerates for 14 days and ferments naturally, with the malvasía in stainless steel tanks and the macabeu in an old stone "cup". Afterwards, the wine rests for 7 months in stainless steel to allow it to express itself unhurriedly, with all its authenticity.
Thus, La Salada El Raig Verd speaks not only of the Penedès landscape but also of Toni's inner world. Of his way of understanding the land, the wine, and life itself. A wine that is free, natural, honest. Because, as he himself believes, what matters is not following a trend, but listening to the vineyard every day and letting it tell the story.
