La Vinya del Vuit 2019 is a remarkable embodiment of the heart of Priorat. About La Vinya del Vuit

La Vinya del Vuit is a red wine crafted by La Vinya del Vuit in Gratallops (Tarragona), within the DOQ Priorat region.

Since 2001, eight oenologists (eight is "vuit" in Catalan), including Sara Pérez and René Barbier, have gathered to exchange their ideas and create a distinctive and original wine each year, using old, restored vines and adhering to traditional winemaking techniques.

La Vinya del Vuit is a wine made from cariñena with a touch of garnacha, sourced from a 70-year-old vineyard located in Gratallops on fragmented licorella soils, managed organically, tilled with a mule, and with utmost respect for the vineyard and its surroundings.

The harvest is carried out manually and transported in small crates to the winery. Once there, it undergoes spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts. After fermentation is complete, it rests for 20 months in 300-litre oak barrels of the 2nd and 3rd year.

La Vinya del Vuit 2018 is a red wine that on the nose stands out for its intense aromas of ripe fruits, abundant spicy notes nuanced with toasted hints, and memories of black fruits in liqueur. On the palate, it is full-bodied, well-structured, with a concentration reminiscent of the classic style characteristic of Priorat. A red wine that, despite its intensity and body, offers freshness and elegance. A red to be savoured leisurely, promising a pleasant evolution in the bottle.
 
2016 La Vinya del Vuit 2016 is a richly concentrated red wine with an aromatic profile of red and black fruits, laced with spicy hints of licorice and nuances of the Mediterranean woodland. On the palate, it is indulgently sweet and reminiscent of a fortified wine. It exhibits exceptionally smooth tannins paired with a harmoniously balanced acidity. The finish is enduring, extensive, and exudes sophistication.
2014 La Vinya del Vuit 2014 is a richly concentrated red wine, exuding complex aromas of ripe red fruits, nuances of Mediterranean herbs, and hints of spice and fortified wine. On the palate, it boasts superb concentration and balance. A refined, vibrant, and distinctly mineral wine that articulates itself with great finesse.
2013 The 2013 vintage has been one of the excellent vintages of the last few years in Priorat, this is evident in the fragrance that this wine has achieved. The Carignan from Gratallops has been able to provide a concentrated and rustic profile that everyone loves. They have turned this vintage into one of the best since the creation of this interesting project.
