LaFou El Sender 2022 is a red wine of open and alluring character, immediately expressing itself with vibrant aromas of blueberries and ripe strawberries, enveloped in dried herbs and a subtle spicy hint. On the palate, it is juicy, with fine-grained texture, featuring slightly candied red fruit that provides immediacy and pleasure. The progression is swift yet substantial, with abundant tannins and a slightly dusty touch that imparts energy and personality. A charmingly relaxed and well-dressed red, perfect for both casual dining and leisurely extended dinners.

About LaFou El Sender

LaFou El Sender is a red wine from the A.O Terra Alta region produced by LaFou. This wine is a blend of 3 different grape varieties: Grenache, Syrah and Morenillo. 

The harvest is carried out manually, with the grapes being transported to the winery in boxes with a 250kg capacity. At tbe winery, the grapes are cooled in cold storage at 5 ° before being destemmed.

The grapes then ferment at a controlled temperature of 26ºC, followed by maceration which lasts for 6-10days. Grapes taken from different plots vinify independently in tanks that have a 10,000-15,000kg capacity.

Then finally before being bottled, LaFou El Sender then ages in oak barrels, 80% french 20% central european, that are between 1-4 years old.

The LaFou winery is run by the Roqueta family, who also owns the Abadal winery. The vineyards that belong to the LaFou vineyard span 60 hectares and are situated at about 400 meters above sea level. Fou, in Catalan, means ravine or narrow passage, through which rivers pass: one of the most characteristic forms of the topography of the Terra Alta.

LaFou El Sender 2021 is a garnet red wine with reddish highlights, clean and intense. On the nose, it is fresh and voluminous, with aromas of ripe black fruits such as blackberries and plums, accompanied by balsamic notes and dried flowers. On the palate, it stands out for its freshness and volume, with fruity and spicy flavours, a hint of liquorice, and a slightly sweet finish. Its structure is juicy and well-balanced, ideal for enjoying on any occasion.

LaFou El Sender 2018 is a succulent red wine brimming with wild berry aromas, hints of minty spices, and delicate nuances of cocoa and licorice. On the palate, it is light-bodied, fruit-forward, and invigorating. A nimble wine with a subtle effervescence and an extended finish adorned with strokes of violet florals.
2014 Robust and full-bodied, it exhibits fruity and spicy notes with sweet undertones and hints of liquorice.
