About Le Rosé de Antídoto

In an era when rosé is often associated with simplicity, immediacy, or seasonality, Bodegas Antídoto chooses to do the exact opposite: to take it seriously. Very seriously. Thus, Le Rosé de Antídoto is born, a terroir-driven rosé that seeks something rather uncommon in Ribera del Duero: depth, identity, and ageing potential.

To comprehend it, one must journey to Soria, the most continental edge of the designation. There, in San Esteban de Gormaz, the Antídoto project has been working for years with a steadfast idea: to democratise excellence. That is, to craft accessible wines without compromising on essentials—the freshness, elegance, and character that define this boundary area.

However, Le Rosé takes it a step further. While other wines from the project are born from a mosaic of small plots, here everything is concentrated in a single location: a vineyard planted in 1905 in Miño de San Esteban. A specific, almost secret place where the soil barely covers the rock. Merely 30 or 50 centimetres of sand over a limestone bed, at 1,000 metres altitude. An extreme environment that compels the vine to struggle and, precisely because of that, to express itself with greater precision.

The blend of varieties also speaks of reinterpreted tradition: tinto fino and albillo mayor. A historic combination in the area—heir to the ancient claretes—which here is refined to reach a new dimension. It is not about looking to the past with nostalgia, but understanding it and translating it with rigour.

In the winery, the approach is equally precise. Whole clusters are used, applying a direct pressing inspired by the taille champenoise, an uncommon technique in the area that seeks to extract the essential without dragging excesses. Fermentation and ageing occur in large-format new French oak barrels, where the wine gains texture and complexity without losing its natural tension.
The result shatters the preconceived notion of what a rosé from Ribera del Duero should be.

Here, there is no superficial lightness, but structure. There is not just fruit, but layers. It is a wine that can be enjoyed young, indeed, but also invites one to wait, to see how it evolves, to treat it with the same patience as a great white or an ageing red.

Le Rosé de Antídoto does not seek to fit in: it redefines. And it does so from a very specific place, demonstrating that even in an apparently light category, the origin—when worked with honesty and precision—can be the true protagonist.
