About Louis Jadot Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre

Louis Jadot Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre is a white wine aged on lees made by Louis Jadot with the Chardonnay variety in the AOC Chablis Premier Cru, in Burgundy (France). 
 
Louis Jadot was founded in 1859 by Louis Henry Denis Jadot himself in the heart of Beaune. After being run by the Jadot family for three generations, the winery was taken over by André Gagey and is now run by his son Pierre-Henri Gagey. They have 270 hectares of vineyards throughout Burgundy and they only produce and sell wines with Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée status. 
 
Louis Jadot Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre comes from a Premier Cru in the southern part of Burgundy, between Dijon and Paris. These are old vines planted in loamy soils and thanks to the continental climate, they enjoy significant temperature variation. The vines are traditionally cultivated and the harvest is carried out manually at the optimum point of ripeness.  
 
After gentle pressing, some of the Louis Jadot Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre must is fermented in oak barrels and the rest is vinified and aged in stainless steel tanks on its own lees for 13-15 months before being bottled.

2018 Louis Jadot Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre 2018 is a white wine with an attractive bouquet of stone fruits, citrus notes and hints of flint. On the palate it is elegant, generous and very balanced. A wine with a viscous texture, dazzling acidity and a serene, mineral finish.
