About Bodega Lanzaga LZ

LZ is a red wine from La Rioja region. It is produced by Telmo Rodríguez and is a blend of 3 different grape varieties; Tempranillo, Garnacha and Graciano.

The vines used to make LZ are grown using a head pruned system. They are located on slopes by the village of Álava Lanziego, where the soil is calcareous clay.

The harvest is carried out manually, with bunches being selected carefully. In the winery, the must is fermented with indigenous yeasts.

The aim of the Telmo Rodríguez ever since it´s foundation has been to redisover forgotten wines from different zones and regions in Spain.

LZ is a red wine that stands out on the nose for its fruity and floral aromas. Fresh red fruits accompanied by a spicy touch that are reaffirmed on the palate where it stands out for its juiciness and freshness. A red wine with well-integrated acidity and beautiful rusticity reminiscent of the Rioja wines of yesteryear.
 
2017 LZ 2017 is a fresh, fluid and juicy red wine. A good vintage that once again displays all its aromatic potential with elegant aromas of red fruit, floral notes and a spicy touch. On the palate it is direct, lively and fresh.
2014 Upon first taste, this wine is delightfully fresh and light-bodied. It boasts a pleasant acidity and appealing tannins. The finish is moderate, characterized by a mineral quality.

It exhibits a deep cherry hue with violet reflections. The appearance is clear and luminous.

Of medium intensity, it reveals hints of red fruit along with dairy nuances and a touch of spice.
2013 This is a fresh and stimulating red wine. It has a direct attack and a light mid palate with a very good, well-balanced acidity and a pleasant tannic sensation. Average finish with fruity hints and some mineral notes.

LZ shows clean, crispy and honest nasal aromas with a medium intensity. Its initial notes of lively and crunchy red fruit are released along with some milky notes, which give way to some spicy nuances.
2012 This is a fresh and stimulating red wine. It has a direct attack and a light mid palate with a very good, well-balanced acidity and a pleasant tannic sensation. Average finish with fruity hints and some mineral notes.
