About Macià Batle Col·lecció Privada

Macià Batle Col·lecció Privada is a wood-aged red wine made by Macià Batlle in the Balearic Islands in the VT Mallorca with the Manto Negro, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah varieties.
 
Macià Batle is a family project that was set up in 1856 on the Island of Mallorca, in the Binissalem area. Their work is artisan and full of experience, championing native varieties like Manto Negro and Callet, complemented by foreign varieties like Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. As a result they produce modern wines with Mediterranean body and flavour.
 
Macià Batle Col·lecció Privada comes from vines planted in calcisol and luvisol soils with a high content of coarse elements like gravel and stones. Thanks to the Mediterranean climate, these vines enjoy being bathed by the sun around 300 days a year. They are cultivated using traditional agriculture and the harvest is carried out at the optimum point of ripeness.   
 
In the winery, the Macià Batle Col·lecció Privada grapes are selected and destemmed. They are then squeezed, macerated and fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of no more than 30°C. The wine is then aged for 14 months in new French and Russian oak barrels. Finally it is bottled and rests in the winery for 36 months before being sold. 
 
Macià Batle Col·lecció Privada is made with a selection of the Macià Batlle family’s best vineyards. A corpulent and deep wine with Mediterranean touches.
 
2012 Macià Batle Col·lecció Privada 2012 is a mature red wine with predominant aromas of red fruit, black fruit and pomegranates and as the glass becomes oxygenated, secondary and tertiary aromas of butter, cocoa, toast and smoke appear. On the palate it is powerful, voluminous and intense. The finish is long with roasted nuances.
