Emilio Moro Malleolus de Sanchomartín is a splendid wine crafted by the Emilio Moro winery in the DO. Ribera del Duero.
The Emilio Moro winery represents the legacy of a family devoted to winemaking for over half a century, where the first generation dedicated themselves to the land, the second instilled their expertise in the third, and this latter, alongside the fourth generation, is building a brand of international renown.
It is a single-varietal wine made from the Tinto Fino grape variety, sourced from Pago Sanchomartín, an estate owned by the winery, planted in 1944 and later grafted in 1964. These vineyards are located on the right bank of the Duero River, in the village of Pesquera del Duero. They are planted on the upper part of a slope, on predominantly calcareous soil with small areas of clay.
The grapes undergo maceration for 28 days in 5,000-litre vats before undergoing malolactic fermentation in American oak barrels.
Emilio Moro Malleolus de Sanchomartín is aged for several years in new French oak barrels.
Emilio Moro Malleolus de Sanchomartín is a highly expressive, elegant, and complex wine, with a remarkable aromatic richness.
