About Baudili Negre

Many artists are inspired by the landscape. The truth is that nature is millions of years ahead of us in any field and therefore, it has always been a guiding force for humans. Just like Leonardo da Vinci used the study of birds to design his flying machines, more and more winegrowers are observing nature to learn from it. Ramon Jané Viticultor is a great example of this. Seeking as much partnership with the landscape as possible, they work to recover ancient native varieties that are on the verge of extinction through organic practices that support the natural balance of the ecosystem. They avoid chemical fertilisers, instead feeding the vine with soil microorganisms created by their own plants, and by doing this, they produce a healthy and expressive fruit to produce wines with maximum Penedès expression.

So, paying no attention to trends and denominations, make Baudili Negre. A red wine made with Cabernet Sauvignon, Xarel·lo and Parellada grapes grown on clay-limestone soils that the Cuscó family, Cal Candí, owns at the edge of the Garraf Natural Park (Catalonia). In the winery, the Cabernet grapes are destemmed to undergo a 15-day maceration and fermentation with native yeasts. It is then blended with 60% of the Baudili white wine from the previous vintage. Finally the wine is aged for 6 months in oak barrels and bottled unfiltered without refining or adding sulphites.

Made by a small, daring project inspired by nature, Baudili Negre is the result of a partnership with the landscape. A fresh and light natural red wine without any sulphites and with strong Mediterranean flavour.

Mas Candí Baudili Negre 2022 is a red wine that stands out for its lightness and fluidity. On the nose, fresh aromas of red fruits such as cherries and raspberries are perceived, complemented by a subtle spicy touch. On the palate, it is smooth and easy to drink, with balanced acidity that enhances the fruity flavours and ensures a pleasant and lingering finish. Ideal for those looking to enjoy an uncomplicated red wine.
