About Mathilde Chapoutier Languedoc

A woman of the world, Mathilde Chapoutier sees herself as an adventurer and traveler. As well as working as Michel Chapoutier’s head of business development and strategy in her father’s company, she takes advantage of all the moving around for her job to set up her own brand with wines made from precious plots of land she finds in France and abroad. Under the name Mathilde Chapoutier Sélection, she presents a selection of high quality, easy-to-drink single-plot wines.

Mathilde Chapoutier Languedoc is a red wine that comes from a vineyard in Languedoc, in the south of France. Garnacha Tinta and Syrah grape varieties grown on stony slopes and enjoying the Mediterranean climate. In the winery, the grapes are selected and destemmed and then vinified in concrete vats for 3-4 weeks. Before the end of alcoholic fermentation, the temperature is raised to 33ºC to promote the polymerization of tannins. Finally, the wine is aged for 6 months in concrete vats.

As a result, the daughter of the king of Parker points shows us that she has inherited all her father’s talent. Mathilde Chapoutier Languedoc is a straight forward red wine that is both easy to drink and, at the same time, full of Mediterranean flavour.

2020

Mathilde Chapoutier Languedoc 2020 is a smooth red wine with intense aromas of ripe black and red fruits. The palate is full-bodied, powerful and structured. A medium-bodied wine with noticeable acidity, silky, delicate tannins and a long, pleasant finish.
