About Mayla

Mayla is a sparkling rosé wine crafted using the ancestral method with syrah grapes in the D.O. Alella, brought to you by Alella Vinícola.

Located in the heart of Alella (Barcelona), Alella Vinícola was established in 1906 as a local cooperative. This unifying concept successfully brought together the region's winegrowers and spearheaded the creation of the Denominación de Origen Alella in the 1950s. Today, they produce wines and cavas from surrounding vineyards, enhancing the Mediterranean character of this area.

Mayla originates from vineyards with an average age of 22 years, planted on gravelly soil using double royat training. The vines, nurtured by the Mediterranean climate, are cultivated through organic viticulture without the use of herbicides, insecticides, or inorganic fertilizers. Harvesting is done manually at the optimal ripeness.

In the winery, Mayla is produced with minimal intervention and minimal sulphur dioxide. Initially, it undergoes fermentation in stainless steel tanks on its own fine lees for 4 months. It then undergoes a secondary fermentation in the bottle for two months to achieve the desired sparkle.

With an original early 20th-century design, Mayla is an exceptionally unique pet-nat rosé with a touch of effervescence.

2020

Mayla 2020 is a sparkling wine that stands out for its freshness and smoothness. On the nose, it reveals aromas of green apple and peach, enticing you to enjoy it from the very first moment. On the palate, it is fruity with a subtly sweet touch, featuring fine bubbles that blend seamlessly, enhancing its sweet notes without losing its fresh character. Perfect for those seeking a young and refreshing sparkling wine.

2016 Mayla 2016 is a slightly sparkling rosé wine with aromas of red fruits, violet flowers and spices. On the palate it is fresh, flavoursome and sparkling.
2012 In the mouth, it is a fresh wine. Natural sparkling point which intensifies all the sensations.

Strawberry colour with salmon-coloured reflections.

High-intensity nose in which sweet red fruit, such as strawberries or raspberries, floral aromas such as violets and thin lees stand out.
