In Catalonia (Spain), there exists a very special grape variety, neither red nor white, known as xarel·lo vermell (red), and at Cava Miquel Pons, always committed to reviving and valuing the region's native grapes, they have given it a distinct voice in the “77 Veremes” range, where each bottle pays tribute to more than 77 years of dedication and care by Miquel Pons Roca, the vineyard's founder and viticulturist. A magical number that, like the wine it brings to life, symbolizes the love for the land and the vine.
 
Since its establishment in 1992, and with over 200 years of viticulture behind it, this family winery in Penedès (Catalonia, Spain) has combined tradition and respect for the terroir with an ecological and artisanal approach, championing the native varieties and their authenticity. Each grape is nurtured from the vineyard to the bottle, applying minimal intervention processes that allow the personality of each plot to shine with natural elegance.
 
Miquel Pons 77 Veremes Xarel·lo Vermell Brisat is a unique wine, 100% xarel·lo vermell, with fermentation in French oak barrels and demijohns (large, bulbous glass vessels) that enhance its freshness and complexity. The 24-hour pre-fermentation skin maceration (in contact with its skins) imparts a deep Mediterranean character, while the 4-month barrel aging and twice-weekly battonage provide creaminess and roundness, always maintaining the prominence of the fruit and the vivacity of the terroir.
