About Molino real

Shakespeare and Dumas’ plays focus on plots, characters and settings that often include detailed references to specific products or regions. Wine is usually mentioned in the context of social settings and interactions. Exquisite wines with those made from Muscat grapes being quite popular in Europe at the time. An oenological gem from the region of La Axarquia, in the province of Malaga (Spain), that now Telmo Rodriguez, renowned winemaker who produces wines in various wine regions of Spain, has been keen to recover.

Molino Real is the result of hard work that combines research with the recovery and preservation of the old and historic Muscatel vines of La Axarquia (Malaga). This is a sweet wine made from Muscatel vines planted in stony, limestone and fine-textured soils at an altitude of 550 metres. They are traditionally cultivated with limited production and low water retention capacity. The grapes are harvested in boxes and then dried in the sun for 2 weeks to obtain a higher sugar concentration. Fermentation is carried out with native yeasts in French oak Bordeaux barrels where the wine remains for 20 months before bottling.

A tribute to the rich winemaking heritage of La Axarquía and a reaffirmation of its historical importance in the production of exceptional wines, Molino Real is a sweet wine produced from the highest quality grapes that are worthy of praise from prominent literary figures like Shakespeare and Dumas.

Molino Real 2020 is a sweet wine that blends freshness with varietal notes of the Muscat grape, unveiling an exquisite complexity, where a pronounced balsamic hint of laurel stands out. On the palate, it offers a velvety texture, with a spark of acidity that balances its perfectly integrated sweetness. A delicate, almost ethereal sweet wine, which is a true indulgence for the palate.

Molino Real 2019 is a sweet wine with intense aromas of candied fruit, honeyed notes and floral hints. On the palate it is tasty, sweet and long. A fruity wine, but with a refreshing acidity that makes it light and pleasant. The finish is long and persistent with musky touches.
