About Mullineux Granite Chenin Blanc

Mullineux Granite Chenin Blanc is a single-variety Chenin Blanc white wine produced by the Mullineux & Leeu winery in the Wine of Origin Swartland denomination, South Africa.

The clusters used to make the Mullineux Granite Chenin Blanc wine come from plots with soils made up of decomposed Paardeberg granite planted with vines with an average age of 40 years old. This soil is very deep and results in wines with great acidity and an aromatic profile with mineral nuances and hints of flint.

Mullineux & Leeu is a young winery that was set up in 2007 but in a very short time it has become one of the most famous and recognised wine brands in South Africa. Located in the Swartland region, the plots have granite and shale soils with great potential for producing high-quality wines.

Part of their success lies in their philosophy of using sustainable agriculture, taking a minimalist and natural approach, both in the vineyard and in the winery and not using any kind of yeast, enzymes, tannins or filtering agents. This results in wines like this Mullineux Granite Chenin Blanc, which is an elegant and honest expression of the terroir and the essence of Swartland.

2018 Mullineux Granite Chenin Blanc 2018 is a profiled white wine with aromas of stone fruits on the nose accompanied by citrus nuances and a subtle mineral note. A wine with excellent natural acidity that balances the texture and the palate, and an extraordinary aging potential of up to 20 years.
