About Portal Del Priorat Negre De Negres

Negre de Negres is a red wine from the DO Priorat, produced by the Portal del Priorat winery, in the south of Catalonia.

Negre de Negres is a blend of Grenache, Carignan and Syrah varieties This Priorat wine is made on the vineyards of the Clos Portal estate. The grapes are grown in slate soils called "licorella", a soil characterized by minerality. In addition, to preserve the character of the terrain, the winery practices organic viticulture.

Negre de Negres begins its development with a manual harvest in boxes of 16 kg during the month of September, and a rigorous selection table.

Then it undergoes maceration and fermentation with indigenous yeasts. Finally, Negre de Negres is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels before hitting the market.

2016 Negre de Negres 2016 is a mature red wine that is powerful and meaty. A good vintage where the aromas of fresh red fruit stand out on the nose, with toasted and spicy notes over a very elegant mineral base note. On the palate it is pleasant. voluminous and intense.
2013 The entry is powerful, silky and fresh. Balanced acidity. Ripe tannins. Long finish with a good persistence.

Long finish with very good persistence. An absolutely recommendable Priorat red wine. Harmonic and balanced.
