About Oliver Conti Indispensable Negre

If you want to do something, you can. Two people who know that well are Xavier and Jordi Oliver Conti, two brothers who in 1991 decided to make their dream come true and make their own wines. Without any training or experience, just a great devotion to wine, they started from scratch to create their project. To do this, Jordi trained in oenology and viticulture and the two brothers looked for the right place to plant their vineyards: the Alt Empordà (Catalonia). A region that until then was not very well known viticulturally speaking but that, thanks to its soils, the Mediterranean climate and the Tramuntana wind, was identified as a unique place to make wines with their own personality.

With 15 hectares of vineyards where native and foreign varieties share the soil, they make wine like this Oliver Conti Indispensable Negre. This red wine is made with the Grenache, Samsó and Cabernet Sauvignon red varieties from vines planted in granitic soils that are very poor in organic matter, and protected by the Alberes mountains. Vinification is carried out in the winery at a controlled temperature of 25ºC in stainless steel tanks.

Oliver Conti Indispensable Negre is a dream come true for two people with the goal of making a wine with its own personality but that is easy and simple to enjoy at the same time. An essential to get to know the personality of the D.O. Empordà.

2021

Oliver Conti Indispensable Negre 2021 is a smooth red wine with aromas of red fruits, herbal notes and spicy touches. On the palate it is rounded, fresh and balanced. A red wine with noticeable acidity and tannins, a silky and pleasant mid-palate and a long finish with marked personality.
