About Oriol Artigas El Rumbero

Oriol Artigas El Rumbero is a natural red wine without denomination of origin produced by Oriol Artigas Viticultors, in Llinars del Vallès, northeast of D.O. Alella, only 15 km from Barcelona.

Oriol Artigas is a young winemaker from the area of Alella, natural of Vilassar de Dalt. After studying and working in various viticultural regions of the Catalan geography, he decided to settle in his own territory, Alella.

The Oriol Artigas Viticultors winery is located in Llinars, where it makes its wines with territorial identity. A connoisseur of the area, he interprets the landscape with great skill and personality, working the vineyard organically and producing his wines in a natural, non-interventional way. This results in honest and transparent wines, which, thanks to a fascinating saline touch, express the full character of the Mediterranean climate.

Oriol Artigas El Rumbero is a red wine made with Red Grenache, from a vineyard located in Llinars del Vallès, Mas Pellicer, a vineyard that is over 15 years old located at 100 metres of altitude and planted on soils with white and pink granite sands.

Harvest is performed by hand. On they arrive at the winery, the Merlot grapes are pressed directly, the Grenache is destemmed and the Syrah is left intact. Then, they are stomped and left to macerate for 5 days with the skins. The grapes ferment in stainless steel deposits with native yeasts. Once the fermentation has ended, the wine rests on its fine lees for 10 months in the same deposits. It is bottled without clarifying nor stabilising or filtering and without added sulphur.

Oriol Artigas El Rumbero 2021 is a fruity, sophisticated, and delicate wine. It boasts a pronounced bouquet, with prominent scents of ripe red fruit and hints of spice. On the palate, it is smooth, vibrant, and exceptionally expressive.
2018 Oriol Artigas El Rumbero 2018 is a fruity, elegant and light wine. Intense on the nose, with ripe red fruit aromas that stand out and spicy notes. In the mouth, it is easy to drink, fresh and very expressive.
