About Panduro Quarterada

The wine region of Mallorca (Balearic Islands) has experienced a growth in the production of quality wine in recent decades. The island’s Mediterranean climate, with mild winters and warm, dry summers, is good for growing grapes. Committed winemakers have been working on improving the quality of the wine to reflect the island’s stunning landscapes. Ibon Apezteguia and Henrik Falk, two friends united by the same passion, set up Panduro Wines, a small project started in Colonia de San Pere, in the northeast of the island, and dedicated to enhancing the Mediterranean beauty with cheerful and authentic wines.

An example of their work is Panduro Quarterada. A coupage made with the native Callet and Manto Negro varieties that are organically cultivated without using chemical products. These are old vines aged 50 planted on clay-limestone soil in the municipalities of Felatnix and Porreras. Once the grapes reach optimum ripeness, they are harvested by hand, selected in the winery, partially destemmed and macerated for 16 days. Fermentation takes place spontaneously with native yeasts in 1000 kg stainless steel tanks, some in whole bunches. Finally, the wine ages in used 500-litre French oak barrels and stainless steel tanks for 6 months. When it is ready, it is bottled without clarifying, filtering or adding sulphites.                     

With a focus on minimum intervention and maximum respect for the environment, Panduro Quarterada is a wine born out of friendship. A juicy, fresh and smooth red wine that is consistent with the natural wine philosophy and rediscovers the hidden essence of the Mediterranean landscape.

Panduro Quarterada 2022 is a smooth red wine with aromas of red fruit accompanied by herbal notes and spicy hints. The palate is smooth, light and very Mediterranean. An easy to drink wine with marked acidity and marked tannins. The finish is pleasant with a lot of flow.
