In a sun-drenched corner of the Riudebitlles valley (Penedès, Barcelona) lies a hillside that seems to whisper secrets to anyone who pauses to gaze upon it. The old macabeo vineyard, with its stony green hue, almost mineral-like, stands amidst olive and almond trees, shaped in goblet form, facing the early morning sun. From afar, that verdure is not merely seen; it is heard. It calls out. Crida Verd! (shout green!, in Catalan) and it is impossible not to draw near.
Celler Pardas was founded in 1996 from the shared dream of Ramon Parera and Jordi Arnan, determined to transform the Finca Can Comas into a space of radically honest wine expression. There, they cultivate their surroundings with their own hands, without intermediaries, without artifices, only with deep respect for the land. They are viticulturists before they are winemakers; landscape lovers before they are producers.
From this commitment arises Crida Verd!: an extraordinary white wine, 100% old-vine macabeo, organically farmed, without herbicides, without insecticides, without tillage. Only patience, spontaneous cover crops, and attentiveness to the natural rhythm of the soil. The grapes are hand-harvested with care, in 20-kilo boxes. Then, they undergo cold maceration, ferment spontaneously, and gradually transform into wine: two months in used 500-litre barrels, and then a four-year wait in the bottle. Just over 600 bottles, only for those who know how to wait.
The result is a liquid gem. A white wine as pure and clear as the Mediterranean breeze, with a composed body, persistent acidity, and a complexity that promises evolution. Ideal for an unhurried dinner, a profound conversation, or that moment of calm at the end of the day. Crida Verd! is the echo of a land, the reflection of a philosophy, and an intimate toast with nature.
