About Pardas Pell a Pell

It is well-established that close physical contact, commonly referred to as "skin-to-skin", fosters a plethora of health benefits, enhances happiness, and strengthens interpersonal relationships. A profound and genuine connection that provides an unparalleled sensory delight. Similarly, a wine that remains in contact with its skins accentuates the grape's nuances and the winemaker's craftsmanship. Stemming from this concept, winemaker Ramón Parera and agronomist Jordi Arnan of Celler Pardas pay homage to this symbiosis with Pardas Pell a Pell. An orange wine that, like all the wines they produce in the municipality of Torrelavit, within the D.O. Penedès in Catalonia, Spain, aims to uphold a culture of quality winemaking by blending a profound respect for the land and traditions.

With a firm commitment to indigenous grape varieties, Pardas Pell a Pell is a xarel·lo sourced from vines perched on terraces of clay-limestone soil. They practice organic farming and restrict the vineyard's yields per hectare to achieve maximum concentration and to harness the full phenolic ripeness of the bunches. In the winery, the whole grapes ferment and macerate with their own skins in stainless steel tanks using indigenous yeasts, without any intervention.

The result is Pardas Pell a Pell, a wine that is refined and exuberantly lively. Following the viticulturist-agriculturist philosophy, it presents us with another expression of the quintessential indigenous variety of the Penedès; the xarel·lo. An orange wine that exemplifies the effectiveness of skin-to-skin contact.
