About Partida Creus Blanco Natural

Partida Creus Blanco Natural is a natural, wood-aged white wine made by Partida Creus with the Macabeo, Xarel·lo and Garnacha Blanca varieties in Penedès (Catalonia).
 
Partida Creus is run by Italians Massimo and Antonella who came to the Catalan town of Bonastre (Baix Penedès) in 2001 and found the perfect place to make their natural and sustainable wines. On their El Mayor estate, they champion ancient viticulture by working with native varieties using only organic methods and minimal intervention.  
 
Partida Creus Blanco Natural comes from a vineyard located in the protected forest area of the Massís de Bonastre. These vines are   planted in clay-calcareous soils and organically cultivated without using any products that could harm the natural balance of the terroir. All the work is carried out manually with help from their two faithful friends; Orazio, a donkey and Vicenza, a mule.  
 
In the winery, each variety used to make Partida Creus Blanco Natural is vinified separately. Firstly, a spontaneous alcoholic fermentation takes place with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks. Then the wines are blended and aged for 8 months in 300-litre barrels plus 1 month in stainless steel tanks. The wine is not filtered or clarified and no sulphur is added in any part of the process.  
 
Affectionately known by the locals as the “crazy Italians”, Massimo and Antonella are pioneers of natural viticulture in this area. This is clear to see in Partida Creus Blanco Natural. A crisp, light and pure white wine.
 
2019 Partida Creus Natural White 2019 is a white wine profiled with aromas of white fruits, citrus notes and mineral touches. On the palate it’s pure, light and crunchy. A wine with bright acidity and a viscous texture.
