In a world that rushes, changes, and often forgets, there are individuals who pause, listen, and remember. For local culture does not reside in museums. It thrives in the hands that till the land, in the harvest calendars, in the aromas a grandmother recognises without glancing at the label. It lives, for instance, in every bottle of wine that emerges from the soul of its place.

Pierfabio Mastronardi is one of those custodians of the landscape. His venture, established in 2017 in the hills between Murgia and the Valle d'Itria (Apulia), does not follow trends but adheres to the land's logic. His wine line "Mammamè", besides referencing the family's historic nickname, is also an Apulian expression joyously exclaimed when something is exceedingly good.

His white of the year, Pierfabio Mastronardi Mammamè Bianco, hails from vineyards with up to 65 years of history, situated at an altitude of 270 metres, on clay, silt, and limestone soils. Crafted from varieties such as falanghina, marchione among other white grapes, it is produced organically with a manual harvest at the optimal moment of ripeness. In the winery, the selected grapes undergo a slow fermentation with native yeasts and then age on lees before bottling.

Pierfabio Mastronardi Mammamè Bianco is a declaration of principles. A tribute to roots, to authenticity, to that which is created with patience. For there are stories that do not require marketing. They merely need time.
