There are words that require no translation. Hearing them just once, at the right moment, is enough to understand everything. "Mammamè" is one of those words. In the heart of Apulia, in Italy, it is an expression born of emotion. It is uttered when something is so delightful that one can only express it with astonishment. But it is also a familial nickname, one that has accompanied the Mastronardi family for three generations. Now, it has evolved into a line of wines that encapsulates history, roots, and flavour.

The creator of this bottled exclamation is Pierfabio Mastronardi, a young winemaker who has invested in the soul of his land. He cultivates his vineyards between the Murgia and the Val d'Itria, in the enchanting region of Gioia del Colle, where limestone melds with sun and wind to yield grapes with character.

Since 2017, Pierfabio has been producing wines under his own label, tending to each step as if it were a ritual. No artifices, no haste, minimal treatments, natural yeasts, and minimal intervention. For when one works with respect and passion, the wine speaks for itself.

Mammamè Primitivo Gioia del Colle is the debut of this thrilling line. It is a red wine of the indigenous primitivo variety, cultivated organically and harvested by hand. Once in the winery, it undergoes a rigorous selection and traditional vinification that honours the vibrant, fruity character of the variety. After fermenting in steel, the wine rests in oak barrels, gaining complexity without losing its authenticity.

Mammamè Primitivo Gioia del Colle is the result of fertile land and a young man who chose to heed his land rather than follow trends. With the very first sip, it elicits what its name promises; a resounding "mammamè."
