Pinna Fidelis Reserva is a Reserva red wine made by Pinna Fidelis with the Tinta del País variety in the D.O. Ribera del Duero (Castilla y León).
Pinna Fidelis was founded in 2001 in the town of Peñafiel (Valladolid) with the aim of producing vineyard wines for those who love the characteristic Ribera del Duero style. This winery has 200 hectares of vineyards, most of which are planted with the local star variety: Tinta del País.
Pinna Fidelis Reserva comes from vineyards that lie where the Duero and Duratón rivers meet. These are 30-year-old strains planted in limestone soils and with a continental climate where the temperature varies greatly. The yield is limited to 3,000 Kg/ha. and the harvest is carried out manually with the bunches selected in the vineyard itself.
In the winery, the Pinna Fidelis Reserva grapes are macerated and fermented for about 35 days. The wine is then aged for 18 months in carefully selected French oak barrels. During this time the wine is looked after by filling barrels, regular batonnage and racking twice a year. Finally, it is clarified and bottled.
With its unmistakable Ribera del Duero style, the Pinna Fidelis Reserva wine is made for those who love this region. A balanced and meaty red that is perfect for opening straight away, but can also be saved.
