One of the most glamorous champagne houses is undoubtedly Piper-Heidsieck. Kings, actors and members of high society have declared themselves big fans of this brand that was set up by Florens Louis-Heidsieck, a German cloth merchant who moved to Champagne (France) in 1777 to fulfill his dream of making “wines that smile”. It was he himself who gave a bottle of this sought after champagne to Queen Marie Antoinette who tasted it and instantly became the brand’s first ambassador. But if there is someone who really made a name for this sparkling wine, it has to be the queen of Hollywood, Marilyn Monroe, who famously said “I go to bed with just a drop of Chanel No. 5 and get up with a glass of Piper-Heidsieck” and with that, she solidified the brand’s reputation as luxurious and elegant.
 
Piper-Heidsieck Rare Brut Millesime is a prestigious cuvée made primarily from Chardonnay supplemented with a small percentage of Pinot Noir. Made from vines planted in the Montagne de Reims region (AOC Champagne), this is an exclusive blend of 15 Grands and Premiers Crus. These are top quality grapes that are carefully vinified in the winery following the champenoise method and aged for 7 years in the house’s cellars. Finally, the wine is disgorged and a final touch is added. A unique dosage with the brand’s own expedition liqueur.
