Between the 30th and 50th parallels, the vine finds its ideal zone. There, where the climate is temperate, the sunlight generous yet not scorching, and the seasons dictate the rhythm of ripening, some of the world's great wines are born. And in the heart of Champagne, at an exact latitude of 48.01°, lies the plot where Pol Cochet cultivates its finest pinot noir.

Established in 1846 by the cooper Étienne Cochet, the maison Pol Cochet has been dedicated for generations to an unwavering commitment to the environment, responsible viticulture, and winemaking that prioritises the purity of the terroir. Here, every decision is made so that the wine speaks with its own voice. Pol Cochet Brut Nature Latitude 48.01 not only pays homage to that point on the map but transforms it into a wine. A pure expression, unadorned, that allows the chalky soil of Ambonnay and, above all, the altitude to speak.

For its production, organic cultivation is employed, and the finest pinot noir and chardonnay grapes are hand-harvested. In the winery, a gentle pressing and slow fermentation in stainless steel tanks with complete malolactic fermentation are carried out. For the second fermentation in the bottle (using the méthode champenoise), a portion of reserve wine (20–30%) adds depth and complexity. After a minimum ageing of 15 months on lees, it is bottled without dosage. Nothing to distract, nothing to obscure the clear character of the terroir.
