About PradoRey Finca Valdelayegua

This PradoRey is crafted following a selected harvest from the Finca Valdelayegua, employing traditional methods adapted to modern techniques.

The Finca Valdelayegua is a vast vineyard where various grape varieties are cultivated. The tinta fina grown in this estate, the foundation of this wine, results from a selection of different viticultural areas within the Ribera del Duero: Quintana del Pidio, Pedrosa del Duero, Anguix, and Pinel de Abajo. It is divided into three distinct plots according to clones, altitude, soil types, and the orientation of the slopes.

Following fermentation at 29°C and maceration for 13 days, PradoRey undergoes ageing for 12 months in American oak barrels. It then spends 3-4 months in French oak vats from Nevers and rests for approximately 12 months in the bottle. A traditional Ribera del Duero wine with a modern flair.

2006 With its perfect balance, Prado Rey is a very tasty, full bodied, fruity and creamy wine with a velvety mid palate. Ripe tannins. Long and lingering finish. A round and elegant wine.

Intense ruby colour with garnet trims and medium robe. Clean and with good tears.

Its aromas are complex and personal. Marked ripe black and red fruit on a background of powerful and complex aromas of cream and spices. Fresh, light and balsamic background.
