About Prieto Pariente Viognier

Prieto Pariente Viognier is a single-variety Viognier white wine made as a Castilla y León table wine by Bodegas Prieto Pariente in Valladolid, Spain.

Bodegas Prieto Pariente found a small vineyard planted with the Viognier variety in La Seca, Valladolid, which is where this Prieto Pariente Viognier comes from. This plot dates from 1999 and is composed of soils rich in calcium and magnesium, with good aeration and drainage.

For the production of Prieto Pariente Viognier, the grapes are harvested by hand and transported in refrigerated trucks to the winery. Alcoholic fermentation occurs spontaneously—partly in stainless steel tanks, partly in ovoid concrete tanks, and partly in 500-liter barrels. The wine undergoes six months of aging on the lees.

Bodegas Prieto Pariente is the personal project of siblings Ignacio and Martina Prieto Pariente, set up with the desire to make unique wines that are faithful representatives of the land they come from. The Prieto Pariente siblings have focussed their efforts on finding those special vineyards in Castilla y León, mainly in the Valladolid area and in the Sierra de Gredos, which means they can produce fresh, fruity and elegant wines, with volume and balance.
