The once cherished social custom of gathering in taverns, bars, tabancos, or wineries, where elders relished the wines of their homeland—the ones from the DO Jerez-Xérès-Sherry—while exchanging their musings on life, has faded away. Today, wine consumption has evolved; the modern consumer focuses on the here and now, eager to try something new before moving on to the next experience. Primitivo Collantes, a distinguished winery in the wines of the Marco de Jerez, succeeds in revitalising this cherished custom through its exquisite creations. With a meticulous philosophy that oversees every stage of the process, they honour the legacy of their founders, Primitivo and Tomás Collantes Lloredo, who arrived from the Cantabrian Valle de Iguña at the end of the 19th century. By fully utilising the magnificent albariza soils of the Chiclana municipality, they offer extraordinary wines accessible to all for enjoying moments of conversation around the table.

One of their wines, Primitivo Collantes Socaire, is a white wine crafted from palomino grapes sourced from the Pago Matalián, located in the municipality of Chiclana de la Frontera, in Cádiz (Spain), where old vines abound, planted in the typical albariza soils known for storing winter rains to nourish them during the hot months.

In the winery, the grapes of Primitivo Collantes Socaire are selected, destemmed, pressed, and fermented in fino casks. Here, the wine remains for 24 months.
