About Principia Mathematica

Principia Mathematica is a white wine produced in Penedès by Alemany i Corrio in Villafranca del Penedès, Barcelona. Irene Alemany and Laurent Corrio met in Burgundy while they were studying oenology. Their passion for this world inspired them to create Penedès´ first garage winery in 1999.

The vineyard´s only plot is situated in Sant Pere de Molanta (Alt Penedés) and it is planted with the 30 year old Xarel·lo variety.

Principia Mathematica is made with direct pressing, and it ferments in 228 and 700 litre new French oak barrels. Two thirds of the wine is grown in these barrels and the rest in stainless steel tanks.

2020

Principia Mathematica 2020 is a creamy white wine. On the nose, it is forthright, unveiling scents of lemon zest, partially dried hay, wilted petals, and subtle wooden nuances. The palate experiences a fresh and well-structured sensation, with an exquisitely fine hint of saltiness. It boasts a balanced acidity, is vibrant and sophisticated. The finish is extensive and enduring, revealing smoky aromas and ripe peach notes.
