About Pujanza Norte

Pujanza Norte is a D.O. Rioja red wine by Bodegas y Viñedos Pujanza.
A coupage of Tempranillo (60 percent) and other grape varieties (40 percent). The grapes come from El Gancho (Northern estate), a vineyard located 650 metres above sea level.
The wine is produced in 7,600 kg capacity French oak tanks with destemmed grapes. Later, it undergoes cold pre-fermentation for five days and maceration with its peels for 15 days. Malolactic fermentation takes place in the same French oak tank.
Finally, it is aged for 19 months in a new French oak barrel from Allier and Tronçais. The wine remains in the bottle until it is put on the market.
2011 Good structure on the palate, with body and nerve, lively acidity and high quality tannins. Great body-acidity-alcohol balance. Flavourful and expressive aromas. A fruity, wide, long and very elegant aftertaste with spiced notes of woods and tea leaves.

Cherry red with a purplish rim.

Complex aroma in its freshness. Refined ripe fruit blend and notable floral notes. Balsamic touches and a well-integrated, powerful, elegant blend. Fine woods, spiced touches, toasted peat and a background of dye.
2006 Rioja wine, with a wide and embracing attack and a great long mid palate full of very tasty notes of fruit and creamy wooden aromas. It is very fresh, silky and tasty in the palate. A well-bodied and well structured wine with an excellent acidity, perfectly balanced with the elegant ripe tannins. Very long and very persistent finish with pleasant sensations of creamy fruit and toasted nuances.

Clean and bright intense cherry colour with violet reflections. Wine with a high robe and thin tears.

Intense, complex and fresh flavours. Its outstanding notes of ripe fruit are released along with intense floral aromas and fresh balsamic hints, which give way to elegant wooden aromas, smooth toasted and spicy touches, cocoa, liquorice and notes of fruit with a touch of liquor. Good mineral background.
