About Querencia Deseya

There are wines born from the heart... and others that, moreover, know how to return to it. Querencia Deseya is one of those unexpected discoveries: a red modest in price, yet grand in soul. A garnacha that has captivated the specialised critics and invites one to rediscover the value of the essential.
 
Behind this wine lies a tale of community and passion: that of a group of vintners who, driven by their love for the land, decided to bring a dream to life. Thus was born Bodegas San Alejandro, now a true emblem of D.O. Calatayud (Aragón, Spain) and one of the great names in the realm of high-altitude garnacha.
 
Querencia Deseya originates from old garnacha vines that cling to extreme soils: red clays, dark slates, and pale limestones. Bush-trained and dry-farmed vines, nurtured with organic practices and hand-harvested in cool, high-altitude areas. Its ageing is an art in itself, with a combination of foudres, vats, concrete tanks, and stoneware jars, shaping a savoury red wine, with character and balance.
 
Ideal for accompanying a simple yet special dinner; for gifting without spending excessively or for allowing oneself to be pleasantly surprised midweek. For there are wines that do not seek to impress, yet touch the heart. And, before you know it, they stay with you forever.
