About Bodegas Tridente Rejón Tempranillo

Rejón is a red wine made by the Bodegas Tridente winery in Villanueva de Campeán (Zamora) V.T. Castilla y León.
 

Bodegas Tridente is a small winery located in Villanueva de Campeán, some 30 km from Zamora, which belongs to the Juan Gil Bodegas Familiares group.

Bodegas Tridenteproduces high quality wines, mainly with the Tinta de Toro variety. It has more than 40 plots, some of them over a hundred years old.
 

Rejón is a wine made with Tempranillo grapes from a vineyard that is over 130 years old, located in the municipality of El Pego.

The harvest is manual, in boxes of 15 kg, and once in the winery it ferments in small stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 25°C for about 20-25 days, before finishing in 225 liter French oak barrels. In these barrels it also undergoes malolactic fermentation and stands for a minimum of 20 months.

Bodegas Tridente Rejón Tempranillo 2020 boasts an intense garnet cherry colour. On the nose, it reveals a complex bouquet of very ripe black fruits, such as blackberries and plums, complemented by subtle mineral undertones. On the palate, this wine is powerful and full-bodied, offering a velvety texture and a meaty structure, yet maintaining balance thanks to its sweet and rounded tannins. Its finish is long and savoury, reflecting the elegance and complexity of an old vineyard. A wine notably aged in barrel, which adds depth and smooths its tannins, making it very elegant and enjoyable.

Tridente Rejón Tempranillo 2019 is an exquisite red wine that, upon olfaction, unveils a bouquet brimming with the essence of ripe red fruits such as cherries and plums, interlaced with a hint of delicate spices. On the palate, it is robust and full-bodied, delivering a velvety texture and seamlessly integrated tannins. This red wine demonstrates a harmonious balance between its spicy profile and the warmth of the fruit's maturity, culminating in a lingering and gratifying finish.

Rejón 2018 is a profound red wine, imbued with character, exhibiting a deep garnet cherry hue. It boasts an intense and complex bouquet, redolent of dark fruits (blackberries, plums) intertwined with mineral nuances. On the palate, it is robust and meaty, well-structured, featuring velvety and supple tannins. It is both elegant and flavorful, enticingly sweet, culminating in a prolonged finish. It possesses a silky, rich texture.
2015 Rejón 2015 is a powerful, structured and mature red wine. On the nose it is intense, with ripe black fruit, roasted notes and a spicy, very elegant touch. On the palate it is meaty, with volume and with a very lingering finish. A magnificent vintage that stands out for a great balance between maturity and freshness, giving it a great storage potential.
