About Reyneke Organic Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon

Reyneke Organic Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon is an organic red wine coupage of the Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon varieties produced by the Reyneke winery in the Stellenbosch region, South Africa.

The clusters used to make the Reyneke Organic Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon wine come from the best organic vineyards in the Western Cape, a quarter of which belong to the Reyneke estate. After the harvest, the grapes are selected, sorted and destemmed to begin fermentation with their native yeasts, which takes place in concrete tanks and stainless steel tanks with an open lid.

25% of the resulting wine ages for 8 months in used oak barrels. After that, the final assembly takes place and the wine is then bottled.

The Reyneke winery is one of the most interesting wineries in South Africa working under the principles of biodynamic agriculture. It began in 1863 as a farm at a time when there was no technology or chemicals to use, only land and nature. True to its origins, Reyneke tries to be self-sustainable and self-sufficient to preserve and return to the environment all that it brings. The team also work to make wines that are the most faithful reflection of all the great things they have available to them.

2018 Reyneke Organic Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon is a red wine that offers spicy aromas of black pepper, accompanied by notes of plum, cherry and cedar wood with a delicate floral hint of violets. On the palate it is balanced and juicy with notes of red fruits. A pleasant and complex wine, with good structure and a dry finish.
