About Reyneke Reserve Red

Reyneke Reserve Red is an organic single-variety Syrah red wine produced by the Reyneke winery in the Stellenbosch region, South Africa.

To make the Reyneke Reserve Red wine, 35% of the clusters are placed whole in a concrete tank where they are pressed by foot. The remaining clusters are selected and destemmed and then placed on top of the crushed whole clusters. Fermentation begins spontaneously with gentle punching down and pump overs.

The resulting wine is transferred to second-use French oak barrels for malolactic fermentation. The wine then ages for 20 months.

In the Reyneke winery, they work according to the principles of biodynamic agriculture and without artificial products to ensure lively and energised soils that allow the grapes to express themselves in a unique way through their wines.
