About Riecine Chianti Classico Riserva

We are well aware that trends dictate the rules. Today it's all about the natural, yesterday it was the powerful, and tomorrow... who knows. In such a fiercely competitive world as wine, sometimes going with the flow seems the only option. Yet, there are those who choose to remain true to themselves, no matter the cost. And therein lies the true magic of their success.

Riecine is one of those ventures with an ironclad personality. For decades, it has championed sangiovese even when it wasn't in vogue. Always steadfast, always authentic. Head held high, glass raised high.

The Riecine Chianti Classico Riserva is born from a selection of the finest sangiovese grapes destined for Chianti Classico. Initially, they are cultivated organically, carefully handpicked in the vineyard, and then pass through a vibrating table where each is selected individually. No rush.

Fermentation begins in concrete tanks, with temperature controlled during the initial days to keep everything calm before spontaneous fermentation starts. The wine then remains in contact with the skins, with the cap gently submerged for ten days to extract only the best. Subsequently, it is transferred to a single large untoasted oak barrel, where it matures for 22 months. As a final touch, it returns to the concrete tank to naturally stabilise, without aggressive interventions, and then rests for three more months in the bottle before venturing into the world.

With such meticulous craftsmanship, Riecine Chianti Classico Riserva does not seek to be modern or classic. It simply aims to be true to its origin. An elegant, profound, and sincere sangiovese, with that charming austerity that only wines confident in themselves can afford.
