Roc des Anges Iglesia Vella 2018 is a creamy white wine with a clean bouquet of white and citrus fruits and mineral touches. On the palate it is smooth, fresh and enveloping. A very stimulating medium-bodied wine with a deliciously saline background.

About Roc des Anges Iglesia Vella

Roc des Anges Iglesia Vella is a biodynamic white wine made by Roc des Anges with the Garnacha Gris variety. The wine is made in Roussillon and is classified as a VDP des Côtes Catalanes.
 
Winemakers Marjorie and Stéphane Gallet set up their project in 2001 in the village of Montner, in the heart of Roussillon. This is an idyllic location characterised by its original terroir with white soil surrounded by black schist. This is where the winery name Le Roc des Anges comes from, which means rock of angels in French. 
 
Roc des Anges Iglesia Vella comes from a unique terroir next to the “Iglesia Vella” (old church in Catalan). The old vines are over 80 years old and planted in light, sandy soils on the surface with a shale rock subsoil. They are cultivated using organic agriculture with biodynamic treatments to encourage deep rooting and showcase the mineral nuances of the terroir in the wine. 
 
In the winery, the Roc des Anges Iglesia Vella grapes are very delicately pressed and then the must is fermented with native yeasts in oak barrels. Finally, the wine ages in used French oak barrels for 7 months before bottling. 
 
Roc des Anges Iglesia Vella is a fascinating wine from the heart of Roussillon. A delicate, intense and deliciously mineral wine. A Garnacha Gris with an angelic influence.
