Rozas 1er Cru 2023 is a red wine that beckons to be savoured leisurely and with delight: its aromas of fresh red fruit intertwine with subtle spicy notes and a mineral hint that awakens the senses. On the palate, its freshness and fluidity caress, while the fine tannins and vibrant acidity enhance an elegant, chalky texture. About Comando G Rozas 1er Cru

Rozas 1er Cru is a red wine produced by the winery Comando G in Sierra de Gredos, D.O. Vinos de Madrid.

 

Comando G is a project created to recover old abandoned vines of the Grenache variety. This is why it is called Comando G, "G" for Grenache.

They currently manage 3 hectares of vineyards, distributed between the municipalities of Cadalso de los Vidrios and Rozas de Puerto Real. They have granite-based soils and are located between 900 and 1000 metres of altitude. 

Comando G's agriculture is based on the principles of biodynamics, proving to have utmost respect for the land they cultivate. Their main objective is to produce wines that reflect the identity of the terroir of Sierra de Gredos. 

 

Rozas 1er Cru is a wine made from Grenache that comes from 50 and 60-year-old vines that are planted on granite-based soils at 900 metres of altitude, in Las Umbrías.

Harvest is performed by hand. It ferments with local yeasts in French oak vats, with soft macerations, whole grapes and their stems, avoiding aggressive processes. Maceration takes approximately 60 days. This wine is aged for 12 months in 500-litre French oak barrels.
 

Rozas 1er Cru is a juicy, deep and mineral wine. An intense but delicate Grenache that reflects the character of this variety in the area.

On the palate, it is vivacious, refined, and imbued with minerality. This wine flows smoothly, characterized by its luminous acidity and a lingering, aromatic finish.

Rozas 1er Cru 2018 is a succulent red wine boasting a profound bouquet of red fruit, pink florals, and hints of talcum powder. On the palate, it is delicate, light-bodied, and fruit-forward. An effortlessly enjoyable wine with a playful acidity and a delightful finish.
2017 Rozas 1er Cru 2017 is a juicy red wine with delicate aromas of pomegranate, dried roses and touches of minerality. On the palate it is fresh, lively and pleasant with intense flavours of red fruit in a true Burgundian style.
