About Santa Tresa Insieme Orange

Santa Tresa, a dialectal abbreviation of Santa Teresa, is a religious figure held in high esteem globally, particularly within communities with strong Catholic traditions. This reverence is notably evident in southern Italy, where a contrada is even named after her in her honour. It is in this very locale that the Santa Tresa wine project is situated. This enterprise not only focuses on wine production but also strives to honour the region's rich cultural and viticultural heritage. Drawing inspiration from the organic practices of the South African winery Stellar Winery since the year 2000, this century-old estate implements sustainable practices with the aim of preserving the terroir and embodying the essence of the Sicilian landscape.

From this collaboration emerges Santa Tresa Insieme Orange, an orange wine whose name, "Insieme" (meaning "together" in Italian), embodies the union between both wineries. A wine originating from vines of the inzolia and zibbibo varieties planted in soils rich in red clay with a calcareous base and beneficial maritime influences. Certified organic since 2009, the harvest is conducted by hand to select the finest grapes, which are immediately transported to the winery. There, fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeasts at controlled temperatures, and subsequently, the wine ages on lees in stainless steel tanks for 3 months.

In its commitment to sustainability and quality, Santa Tresa Insieme Orange is an orange wine that masterfully captures the essence of the Sicilian terroir. A wine of the IGT Terre Siciliane, robust and vibrant, a result of collaboration that respects and celebrates the land from which it originates.
