Schoenheitz Pinot Noir 2023 exhibits an appealing bright cherry red hue with garnet highlights. About Schoenheitz Pinot Noir

Wars are detrimental to all, but the Second World War was particularly devastating. Focusing on the vineyard and Alsace, a region that had the potential to be one of the most prominent in the wine world, the land suffered severe damage during the conflict. Fortunately, years later, visionary vintners worked tirelessly to give it a second chance. In the case of Henri Schoenheitz, of Austrian descent, he had to fight hard to save the land on the slopes of Wihr-au-Val, at the entrance of the Munster valley, successfully transforming it into an ideal place for vine cultivation. Today, his son Henri, along with his wife Dominique, after studying viticulture at the wine school in Beaune, manage the 15-hectare family estate, adhering to the principles of sustainable agriculture with profound respect for nature.

Located not far from the Alsace Wine Route, they offer us small gems like Schoenheitz Pinot Noir. A red wine made from Pinot Noir vines aged between 10 and 15 years, sourced from several meticulously selected plots of highly decomposed granite soil, rich in mica and silica, situated 300 metres above sea level. Under extreme climatic conditions and 100% organic cultivation, the vinification is conducted in the most respectful manner to highlight above all the expression of the grape variety. Following a manual and selective harvest, fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeasts and aging in oak barrels.

Included in the winery's so-called "classic" range, Schoenheitz Pinot Noir stands out for its subtlety and elegance, showcasing the purity of Alsatian grapes. A wine that, like the history of the Schoenheitz family, is forged over time, with patience and a deep respect for nature.
