About Sei Solo

Sei Solo is a red wine from the Ribera del Duero region produced by Javier Zaccagnini. This wine is made using only Tinto Fino grapes.

The grapes used to make Sei Solo come from 6,33 hectares of vineyards old vineyards between 60 and 90 years of age, situated in the locality of La Horra. Here, the viticulture and cultivation of the vineyards is carried out in a manner respectful to the environment.

The harvest is carried out manually in small boxes to ensure that the grapes do not break or lose freshness before arriving at the winery. At the winery, the grapes are destemmed and later undergo cold maceration. Dubsequently, they are transferred to stainless steel tank of different capacities, where they ferment separately. After the alcoholic fermentation, Sei Solo is racjed into French oak barrels, where it will undergo malolactic fermentation. Finally, before being bottled, Sei Solo ages for 21 months in 600-liters barrels. 

Sei Solo is the personal project of Javier Zaccagini: the ex-president of Consejo Regulador Ribera del Duero and co-founder of Aalto. The name of this wine pays hommage to one of the owner of the wineries favourite works: “Sei Solo a Violino senza Basso accompagnato” by Johann Sebastian Bach.  

2022 Sei Solo 2022 is a wine of character that evokes profound emotions. As it approaches the nose, intense aromas of noble fresh blackberries emerge, intertwined with delicate spices and a subtle hint of fine wood. On the palate, it unfolds with great body, presenting a chalky texture that envelops the palate with its elegant and persistent character. The structure of refined tannins imparts an almost tangible firmness, yet well-integrated, offering a sensation that is both velvety and powerful. The 2022 vintage promises a highly concentrated expression, making it highly recommended for those who appreciate depth and complexity in a wine.

Sei Solo 2019 is a mature red wine exuding aromas of dark fruit, hints of spice, and nuances of toasted oak and vanilla. On the palate, it is extensive, elegant, and well-rounded. This medium-bodied wine boasts silky tannins and a delightful, enduring finish.
2015 Sei Solo 2015 is an intense, balanced and elegant red wine. An excellent vintage that displays all the character of the variety and the terroir. A powerful aroma, with ripe red fruit, marked toasted notes and spicy nuances. On the palate it is voluminous, meaty and highly lingering.
2013 Robust and lingering, refined and harmonious.
