About Ses Nines Negre

Ses Nines Negre is a red wine produced by the winery Celler Tianna Negre in the municipality of Binissalem, VT Mallorca.

 

Celler Tianna Negre is the project of the family Morey-Garau, and the company Antonio Nadal, S.A. (Bodegas Túnel), which is born from the idea of building a winery to produce their own wines. At first they made their first wine in the garage of a friend who was a winemaker. It was in 2007 when they opened their own winery, equipped with state-of-the-art technology, enabling them to take care of the grapes in the entire production process, at the same time as they paid utmost respect for the environment.

The Morey-Garay family is originally from the municipality of Consell, a neighbouring village of Binissalem, with a great winemaking tradition. This is where they first vineyard, with more than 35 years of age, was located. Currently, the winery has 35 hectares of vineyards distributed throughout the region of Raiguer. The vineyards are planted on soils with predominant Call Vermell, a calcareous soil with a clayey texture, rich in iron, which gives it its characteristic red colour.  The climate of the area is typically Mediterranean, with very mild summers and moderately cold winters.

 

Ses Nines Negre is a wine made from Manto Negro, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Callet and Merlot, from their own vineyards.

The grapes are manually harvested and placed in boxes. Then, they are selected in the vineyards. Once in the winery, the grapes are destemmed and taken to stainless steel deposits, where they go through fermentation at a controlled temperature, with several daily pump-overs. This wine is aged for 5 months in French oak barrels.

 

Ses Nines Negre is a clean, fresh and easy to drink wine. A fruity wine with elegant floral notes, where the aromas of its ageing turn into subtle spicy hints.
