About Spy Valley Sauvignon Blanc

Spy Valley Sauvignon Blanc is a white wine aged on lees made on South Island (New Zealand) by Spy Valley with the Sauvignon Blanc white variety.

In 1993, the Jonhson family were one of the first winemaking families to arrive in this area that was virtually unknown beforehand. Famous mainly for its incredible Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir wines, Spy Valley uses the latest in design and technology. Located in the heart of Marlborough, it is considered one of the best new winemaking companies in the world. They have earned this reputation with their superior quality international wines.

Spy Valley Sauvignon Blanc comes from vineyards certified by the New Zealand Sustainable Agriculture programme. Located in the Waihopai Valley, an arid land with clayey, stony soils and gravel on the surface, it has very good drainage and is full of nutrients for the vines. They use respectful agriculture and when the grape reaches optimum ripeness, it is harvested manually first thing in the morning to keep it as cool as possible.

In the winery, the Spy Valley Sauvignon Blanc grapes are selected, destemmed and pressed gently by plot. Then the must is fermented, mostly in stainless steel tanks with a small amount in barrels. Finally, the best wines from the different batches are mixed.

Spy Valley Sauvignon Blanc comes from one of the privileged Sauvignon Blanc regions in New Zealand. A wonderful fruit concentration with impressive texture and complexity.
2021

Spy Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2021 is a fruit-forward white wine. Aromatically, it is delicate, adorned with floral and fruity notes (peach, grapefruit). On the palate, it is sumptuous with a medium body. Flavours of passion fruit and sweet lime are underscored by a hint of minerality. The acidity is utterly delightful.
2018 Spy Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2018 is an aromatic white wine with intense aromas of citrus and tropical fruits with a spicy background. On the palate it is rich, complex and textured. It preserves the purity of the fruit and has a pleasant, well-integrated acidity.
