About Taanug Cabernet Merlot Crianza

Taanug Cabernet Merlot Crianza is a red wine produced by Bodegues Pinord in Vilafranca de Penedès, D.O.Penedès.

 

Bodegues Pinord is a family-run winery with over 150 years of history in the winemaking industry. In 1942, they built the winery in Vilafranca del Penedès, next to the railway station, just 4 km from the original farm. From there, they sent their wines in bulk all over Spain, and the fact of being near the station made this task easier. The winery had a pipe that went under the tracks to fill the vats of the trains that carried the wine.

Currently, Bodegues Pinord produces wines in different winemaking regions, using organic cultivation. Generation after generation, the philosophy of the Tetas family can summarised as: family tradition, pioneering and innovative spirit, love for the land and passion for good wine.

 

Taanug Cabernet Merlot Crianza is a wine made from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, following the Kosher parameters (all the production process is supervised by a rabbi, as the codes of the Jewish religion dictate).

After the harvest, grapes are fermented and macerated for around 15 days. After the coupage, it spends a few months in the barrel, and then some time in the bottle.

 

Taanug Cabernet Merlot Crianza is a powerful, long and elegant wine, with great balance between the fruit and the notes of the ageing.
