About Taille aux Loups Brut Tradition

Taille Aux Loups Brut Tradition is an organic sparkling wine of the Chenin Blanc variety produced by Domaine de la Taille Aux Loups, the winery run by Jacky Blot in the Montlouis-sur-Loire region of France.

Located on the banks of the River Loire, Domaine de la Taille Aux Loups consists of 25 hectares of plots of very old Chenin Blanc vines that are cultivated organically to obtain wines within the denominations of Vouvray and Mont-Lois-sur-Loire. Its owner, Jacky Blot, is one of the world's leading exponents in the production of wines of this variety.

The vineyards where Taille Aux Loups Brut Tradition comes from have limey soils and are cultivated organically. He makes this sparkling wine using the traditional champenoise method, with double fermentation, the same procedure used to make sparkling wines such as champagne or cava.

The base wine for Taille Aux Loups Brut Tradition ferments in used oak barrels and ages in stacks with its lees for around fourteen months, giving rise to a fine and elegant sparkling wine, with deep and complex mineral notes, and with a lively acidity that points to a considerable potential for storing.

Jacky Blot’s meticulous work in his cellars led to him obtaining Chenin Blanc wines with unprecedented levels of quality, and they are now internationally recognised for their fineness, elegance and longevity.
