About Castell d'Encús Taleia

Castell d'Encús Taleia is a white wine from the D.O. Costers del Segre produced by Castell d'Encus.

This wine is crafted from Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon grapes, cultivated in the Pyrenees of Lleida at an altitude of one thousand metres.

Interestingly, its production involves the legendary 12th-century stone vats of Castell d'Encus. Part of the fermentation occurs in these vats. The remainder is conducted in new oak barrels, where the wine rests on its lees, and small stainless steel tanks.

Finally, this wine undergoes a refinement period of nine months in the bottle.

2021

Castell d'Encús Taleia 2021 boasts a bright, clear yellow hue. On the nose, it is distinguished by fresh aromas of green apple and citrus such as lemon, complemented by subtle herbal notes. On the palate, it is slightly light, with a balanced acidity that renders it refreshing. Its finish is smooth and lingering, leaving a pleasant and fresh sensation. Ideal for those seeking an easy-to-enjoy white wine with a moderate aromatic profile.

Taleia 2020 emerges as a youthful and vivacious white wine, ideal for connoisseurs who relish crisp and unambiguous flavors. Olfactorily, it unfurls a nuanced bouquet evocative of fruits such as Granny Smith apples and peaches, accentuated by a citrus zest of lemon. Upon tasting, its dry essence and pronounced acidity render it invigorating, whilst its delicacy makes it an agreeable and effortlessly palatable choice.

Taleia 2019 is an aromatic white, exquisitely rich and flavoursome, presenting a straw-yellow hue. On the nose, it is fruit-forward and highly appealing, with nuances of peach, dried apricots and a delicate whisper of vanilla. The palate experiences a lively and invigorating freshness, culminating in an extended and intricate finish, echoing hints of syrup.
2018

Taleia 2018 is a sophisticated white wine. The bouquet reveals scents of vanilla, quince, and apricot. On the palate, it is vibrant, featuring pear nuances. The finish is extensive and lingering.
2013 The spicy notes from the nose are again present in the mouth. This wine has a very long and enjoyable passage through the mouth, marked by a very well integrated acidity.

Clean and bright pale yellow colour with greenish reflections.

Initial notes of white flowers and minerals are gradually nuanced by aromas of sweet spices, such as vanilla, on a nice background with hints of undergrowth.
2012 The spiced notes noticed in the nose are still present in the palate. This wine shows a long and pleasant mid palate marked by a very well integrated acidity.
