About Tentenublo Escondite del Ardacho El Abundillano

Roberto Oliván is one of the leading names among the new wave of young Rioja winemakers. His personal project, Tentenublo Wines, was the result of a generational handover, when Roberto decided to take over his mother's winery in Lanciego (Rioja Alavesa) to produce wines with all the character and tradition that characterises the DOCa. Rioja, but with a very personal avant-garde twist.
 
His work is focused on about 10 hectares, some from the family vineyard and others that he has acquired over the years, lying at an altitude of 620 metres above sea level. These vineyards have predominantly limestone marl and sandstone soils, they are cultivated following the principles of organic agriculture and all work is carried out manually. A practically artisan work that results in honest wines full of character, freshness and personality.
 
Tentenublo Escondite del Ardacho El Abundillano is a Grenache-dominant wine from a single vineyard, the El Abundillano estate. Fermentation is carried out with some of the bunches whole and using native yeasts. The resulting wine ages for 9 months.
 
The Tentenublo Escondite Del Ardacho El Abundillano label is a sort of homage to the lizards that live freely in the El Abundillano estate. This wine is a very personal Grenache, with bright and floral aromas. When opened, it can appear shy and somewhat reduced. In this happens, we would recommend a thorough decanting and waiting a few minutes for the wine to reveal its full potential. We can assure you that you’ll be rewarded for your patience.

Tentenublo Escondite del Ardacho El Abundillano 2020 is a red wine of beautiful aromatic intensity with floral notes of violets accompanied by earthy nuances. On the palate it is juicy and fresh. An elegant red wine, with fine tannins and mineral nuances. It is possible that, after opening, the wine may present some aromas of reduction. If this happens, we would recommend a thorough decanting and waiting a few minutes for the wine to reveal its full potential.
