About Terraprima Blanc

Terraprima Blanc is a white wine produced by the winery Can Ràfols dels Caus, in Avinyonet del Penedès, D.O. Penedès.

Can Ràfols dels Caus is a winery from Penedés that has over 40 years of history, located right in the mountain range Macizo del Garraf. At the forefront we can find its owner, Carlos Esteva, who, since the beginning, has made wines with their own identity, showing the character of this singular terroir.
Terraprima is the latest project of Can Ráfols dels Caus. We are talking about a farm next to Can Ràfols which was going to become a quarry for cement production. To avoid this, Carlos Esteva bought the farm, which included 40 hectares of vineyard of more than 80 years old, planted on calcareous soils. This is where his two wines come from. Wines distinguished by their exceptional mineral nature.

Terraprima Blanc is an organic white wine made with Xarello, Macabeo and Malvasia from vineyards located on calcareous soils.
The harvest is performed by hand. Once the grapes arrive at the winery, they ferment with native yeasts in stainless steel deposits. Part of the xarello grapes are fermented in chestnut barrels.

Terraprima Blanc 2023 is a white wine that dazzles with a vibrant aromatic profile, featuring ripe pear, apricot, and subtle herbal notes, a true reflection of its variety. On the palate, it presents a complex and well-defined structure, with a spicy hint of mountain herbs and a pronounced minerality that sets it apart. Its finish is flavourful and persistent, leaving an enveloping sensation of freshness.
2017 Terraprima Blanc 2017 is an expressive white wine, with structure and freshness. On the nose the aromas of ripe fruit typical of Riesling stand out, and the structure and complexity of Xarelo take centre stage.
2012 Sophisticated with pronounced minerality. Well-structured and expansive, it also exhibits elegance and depth.

Attractive straw-yellow hue.

Abundant white fruit characteristics complemented by floral and herbal notes.
