About Gran Caus Blanc

In the heart of the Massís del Garraf (Penedès, Catalonia), where limestone sculpts the landscape and history intertwines with the vineyard, Gran Caus Blanc is born. This white wine is the living testament to the vision of Carlos Esteva, who, upon arriving at Can Ràfols dels Caus in 1979, not only restored the noble family estate but also revolutionised the area's viticulture.
 
The wines that comprise the Gran Caus line were the first that Carlos Esteva created in the 1980s; they are a true reflection of the philosophy and style of Can Ràfols dels Caus and are distinguished by their nobility, elegance, and authenticity.
 
Carlos Esteva is one of the pioneers in crafting great xarel·los from Penedès. Tirelessly perfecting his wines, both in the vineyard and the winery, his blend with chenin blanc and chardonnay broke new ground and established a new language for Mediterranean white wines.
 
Gran Caus Blanc is crafted respecting the essence of the terroir: gentle pressing, without destemming, spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts of each variety separately, in stainless steel tanks and cement vats, and ageing in bottle for a year before release. Without any wood intervention, its freshness and purity are elegantly expressed.
 
Gran Caus Blanc is not just a wine; it is a story in every sip. A reflection of the patience and vision of those who understand that greatness is built over time.

Gran Caus Blanc 2022 is a white wine that reveals a burst of fresh aromas on the nose, with notes of ripe lemon, succulent peach, and a floral hint of white blossoms. On the palate, it is subtle, with a creamy texture and balanced acidity, complemented by a delicate mineral touch. Its finish is smooth and luscious, with refreshing citrus nuances that entice continued enjoyment of this distinguished white wine.
2008 A Spanish wine with a good, soft and very fresh attack and a ligth and tasty mid palate. It has a marked and well integrated acidity and a good finish with a pleasant bitterness. Long finish that invites to keep enjoying it.

Pale new gold colour with greenish reflections.

Medium intensity aromas. As it opens up, this wine shows a greater potential and a greater intensity. Some hints of fleshy white fruits, flowers and toasted nuts are displayed.
2007 Creamy palate that gives the impression of filling the mouth. Nice, smart, with a strong grapefruit citrus acidity.
Long atertaste and persistant citrus fresh sensation.

Pale golden yellow with touches of green. Bright and clean.

Subtle and fresh aromas of ripe white fruit, tropical and spicy notes with floral hints.
2006 Unctuous mouth, they seem to fill the mouth, nice, smart, strong grapefruit citrus acidity after swallowing enduring sense and fresh citrus gives this wine, long time aging.
